Navgyan Tribal Empowerment and Rural Trust

Navgyan Tribal Empowerment and Rural Trust is a non-government organization based in Manipur, working towards the social, educational, economic, and overall development of communities. The Trust was registered on 11 November 2022 and is registered with the Sub-Registrar under the Trust Act. It is also registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for undertaking CSR activities under CSR Registration No. CSR00042911.

Our work focuses particularly on children, tribal affairs, poverty alleviation, women’s development and empowerment, while also supporting initiatives related to education, agriculture, environment, healthcare, livelihood development, and community welfare.

We believe that sustainable development begins at the community level. Our approach is to create opportunities for people to gain knowledge, skills, awareness, confidence, and access to better opportunities. Through programmes and community activities, we work to encourage participation and help people become more capable and self-reliant.

Our initiatives include education programmes for children, women empowerment and skill development, agricultural awareness, environmental sustainability activities, food distribution, social awareness programmes, and community development initiatives. We also support broader development thinking for Manipur through our Smart Manipur Development Mission – 2035, which focuses on education, healthcare, employment, infrastructure, digital development, environmental protection, connectivity, and inclusive growth. Navgyan Tribal Empowerment and Rural Trust is guided by the belief that development should be inclusive, sustainable, and people-centered. We aim to work with communities, volunteers, institutions, government bodies, and other stakeholders to create practical solutions and lasting social impact.

Smart Manipur Development Mission – 2035

Alongside its grassroots activities, Navgyan Tribal Empowerment and Rural Trust has developed the Smart Manipur Development Mission (SMDM) – 2035, a comprehensive and future-oriented development proposal for Manipur. The mission envisions “Building a Smart, Sustainable, Inclusive and Globally Connected Manipur” and proposes a coordinated approach to long-term development.

The mission covers 15 strategic development sectors, including smart infrastructure, healthcare, education, transportation, water supply and sanitation, renewable energy, affordable housing, tourism, digital governance, industrial development, agriculture and food processing, smart markets, environmental conservation, and skill development.
