Environment Sustainability Programme
Navgyan Tribal Empowerment and Rural Trust organized an Environment Sustainability Programme at Kairembikhok, Manipur, promoting community awareness and practical action for a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment.
The programme was led by Mrs. Sorojini Palmei, President of Navgyan Tribal Empowerment and Rural Trust, with the participation of Mr. Palmei Houthalung, Secretary, and Mr. Naorem Rabichandra Singh, Treasurer, along with volunteers and community members.
The programme focused on practical environmental activities including tree plantation, water conservation, reducing plastic use, maintaining clean surroundings, and protecting nature. Participants took part in planting saplings and community cleanliness activities, while awareness sessions highlighted the importance of responsible use of natural resources and reducing single-use plastic.
The beneficiaries of the programme included local community members, women, children, and other participants from the surrounding area, who gained awareness about simple and practical ways to contribute to environmental protection. Children and young participants were particularly encouraged to understand the importance of caring for nature and developing environmentally responsible habits.
The programme emphasized that environmental protection is a shared responsibility and that small actions at the community level can contribute to long-term sustainability. Through such initiatives, Navgyan Tribal Empowerment and Rural Trust works to promote environmental awareness, community participation, sustainable practices, and a healthier future for people and nature.
