Women Empowerment Programme
Navgyan Tribal Empowerment and Rural Trust organized a Women Empowerment Programme at Kairembikhok, Manipur, with the theme “Empowered Women, Empowered Community.” The programme focused on strengthening women’s skills, confidence, awareness, and ability to participate actively in social and economic development.
The programme was led by Mrs. Sorojini Palmei, President of Navgyan Tribal Empowerment and Rural Trust, with the participation of Mr. Palmei Houthalung, Secretary, and Mr. Naorem Rabichandra Singh, Treasurer, along with volunteers and community members.
The programme covered important areas including skill development, financial literacy, health awareness, leadership development, and legal awareness. Practical activities included training in stitching and handicrafts, giving women opportunities to learn skills that can support self-reliance and livelihood development. Sessions on financial literacy encouraged participants to understand saving, spending, investment, and financial independence, while health awareness activities promoted healthy habits, cleanliness, regular exercise, and the importance of health check-ups.
The beneficiaries of the programme were local women and community members, who participated in the training, awareness sessions, and practical activities. Participants were encouraged to become more confident, informed, independent, and actively involved in their families and communities.
